Whether you prefer to sell by the piece or on recovery, our flexible transaction options are built around your business and your goals.
Assay lots are processed at our state-of-the-art, 76,000-square-foot facility in Hebron, Ohio. Every lot is decanned, milled to a silo-grade quality, mechanically sampled, and prepared with duplicate samples for analysis. We determine precise PGM concentrations using Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry (ICP), providing the most accurate and transparent results.
Our commitment to maximizing your returns goes beyond just the assay. We also identify, record, and compensate you for your dust, oxygen sensors, metal substrate (foil) converters, and silicon carbide that is recovered during processing: valuable materials that most companies fail to recognize.
Let us show you how much additional revenue your catalytic converters could be generating.
When you choose to sell by the piece, one of our experienced team members works directly with you at your facility to evaluate every catalytic converter. Together, we identify each part number and utilize our proprietary pricing database to determine its value based on current PGM market pricing and converter-specific precious metal content. No converter is added to the purchase order until the customer has reviewed and approved its value.
Upon completion of the transaction, you receive a detailed printed, and emailed, settlement outlining every converter purchased and its corresponding value. More importantly, our goal is to help our customers become more knowledgeable buyers and sellers. Throughout the process, we educate your team on identifying part numbers, understanding converter values, and using our pricing database: giving you the tools and confidence to build that expertise in-house.
Every transaction is conducted in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Our dedicated compliance team ensures all documentation, recordkeeping, and purchasing requirements are met, providing a secure, transparent, and professional transaction regardless of where business is conducted.
Every assay lot moves through the same five steps inside our 76,000 sq ft Hebron facility. Same procedures, same audit trail, accurate results, every time.
The audit trail starts here. All boxes are weighed, photographed, and recorded at time of receipt. The lot is then tagged and moves directly into queue in our inventory.
The lot moves to our staging department where Oxygen Sensors, Foil Converters, and Silicon Carbide are separated and recorded. This process is video recorded and kept for 90 days per our standard procedures.
Material is first decanned if it is whole units. The resulting ceramic catalyst is then milled to a silo grade quality and mechanically sampled during milling. Two samples are prepared for every lot.
PGM concentrations are measured by inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP). We have over 20 years of experience in full wet lab analysis. ICP is our standard.
Full detailed settlement displaying the lot's ceramic weight (including sample weight), PPMs, Dust, Oxygen Sensors, Foils, and Silicon Carbide. Pool your metals or take full payment. Funds are available within 1 business day of the results.
RCS purchases a full range of automotive based non-ferrous metals and small parts. We can purchase by the piece or by the pound.
What brings suppliers to RCS – and keeps them coming back – is simple: trusted relationships, market innovations, and a growing collection network that supports their businesses where they operate.
70+ team members across 18 locations, anchored by 50+ years of founder experience buying, processing, and refining catalytic converters. Our suppliers work directly with the people who built RCS, not a call center.
Locations across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America, and India, with active expansion in North America and beyond. We support our customers where they are and commit to the communities in which we transact.
Market innovations to support our customers' growth including: VIN to converter value, scrap vehicle calculator, inventory management, "message to grade" converter identification, user friendly "no-number" identification, and more. One platform, multiple solutions.
